Our college library is named in honour of Captain Amol Kalia, a brave soldier who was posthumously awarded the "Vir Chakra" for his remarkable courage, leadership, fighting spirit, and ultimate sacrifice during the Kargil War. This dedication underscores our commitment to honouring the memory of heroes and fostering a spirit of bravery and dedication among our students.
Situated on the first floor, the library boasts an impressive total area of 3751 square feet, accommodating up to 150 students at a time. The library is designed to be spacious, well-ventilated, and adequately lit, ensuring a conducive environment for study. It is also equipped with a generator to ensure uninterrupted services in case of power outages.
It is fully automated using the updated software Koha. Govt. Shivalik College has also membership with N-LIST/INFLIBNET, both teachers and students have registered on this site and get benefits of e-resources i.e. e-books, e-journals etc. About 519 students/teachers of our college have become members of this platform which is increasing the knowledge of students/teachers. The library building is well stocked with the latest books, journals, magazines, and newspapers as well as e-books and e-journals. The library has more than 32294 books, subscriptions to 5 journals, 10 newspapers, and 4 magazines. In addition to the main library, the departments have their departmental libraries where the students can get the course-related books.

Sports Complex
The college is committed to offering resourceful infrastructure for the holistic and all-round development of students. It provides adequate facilities of indoor (Chess, Carrom board etc.) and outdoor sports ( Volleyball, Basketball, Badminton, Athletics, and Handball) students as well as faculty support amenities. It has a 400-metre track having a capacity of 1500 spectators, a Handball ground, Basketball, volleyball, and a Badminton court having state of the art lighting system and net enclosure which boasts of producing sportspersons of the international repute.
There are five Sports Wings: Volleyball, Basketball, Badminton, Athletics, and Handball. In the session 2022-23, college students won medals in different kinds of sports such as Chess, Penchek silat, Weight lifting etc.
Laboratory & Internet
There are well-equipped laboratories for Botany, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, and Geography, Two computer labs for BCA/PGDCA, and two for B.A/B.Sc (computer science) and a dedicated English lav. all linked to a high-speed wifi network. Laboratories are provided with requisite equipment for the conduct of practicals.
The college has adequate ICT infrastructure. There are 14 Interactive panels distributed in classrooms, lecture theatres, labs, the library and the principal office. Three seminar rooms have a Digital podium, OHP and White Boards. 112 computers are distributed among computer labs, English labs, libraries, offices, and departments. An Electronic Kiosk is also there. The college has 7 fibre-based WiFi facilities, and the internet connection is regularly updated.
Xerox
The college has a Photocopying and printing facility that is also available to teaching as well as non-teaching staff. There are two photostat machines and 4 printers for college office staff and one photostat machine and 3 printers for teaching faculty.
Differently Abled Friendly Campus
College provides a safe and secure campus for students with disabilities. We have a well established enabling unit to facilitate our students with special needs. Also, there is a proper comfortable arrangement of chair tables in the library as well as classrooms for efficient study.

Other Facilities
The college has a well-maintained Botanical and Herbal garden for learning and practical purposes. There is a Zoological museum as well as a Botanical museum for evolutionary knowledge purposes.
The college also provides different skill enhancement 6 months certificate courses for students, First aid medical facilities for students as well staff, Solar system facilities to save electrical energy, JenSAT electrical generator to continue work without light etc. College committee provide Sanitary napkins for female students.
