Infrastructure
The Govt. Shivalik College in Naya Nangal was founded in 1979. The total campus area comprises of 16.71 acres. The college serves as a beacon of hope and upliftment for a largely socio-economically backward student group. The college provides sufficient infrastructure to nurture the academic interest of students and ensures optimum facilities for the curricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities.
MAIN ADMINISTRATIVE BLOCK :The Administrative Block houses the office of the Principal, Registrar , Bursar/ IQAC/ RUSA Co-ordinator , Administrative office, a girls common room, the faculty staff room on the ground floor and the college library on the first floor. The administrative office is fully automated and uses a CMS office automation software.
The CLASSROOMS: The college has a total of 31 well ventilated and spacious classrooms furnished with adequate lighting, fans and furniture.
LECTURE THEATRES: There are 16 lecture theatres in the college distributed in arts , science and HEIS block.
LABORATORIES: There are well-equipped laboratories for Botany, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Geography, Two computer labs for BCA/PGDCA, two computer labs for B.A/B.Sc (computer science) and a dedicated English lab. All linked to a high speed Wi-Fi network. Laboratories are provided with
requisite equipment for the conduct of practicals.
GARDENS: College has a well maintained Botanical and Herbal garden for learning and practical purposes.
MUSEUMS: The college boasts of one of its kind Zoological museum as well as Botanical museum.
CANTEEN: The college has a well maintained canteen It includes a well-ventilated open kitchen for preparation of various food items, There is a separate sitting area for staff and students.
Washroom facility: Floor wise separate washrooms facility for Boys and Girls is available in the college. Incinerators and vending machines has been installed in girl's washrooms.
Facilities for specially abled: College provides wheelchair for specially abled students and have ramps on ground floor for the same. Disabled washroom for Girls is there. Wheel chair facility is also available in the college.
Multipurpose hall and carreer counseling room: The Multi purpose hall on the second floor of the arts block has a seating capacity of 150 students. There is also a career guidance and counseling cell at the college.
Sports facilities: College offers substantial sport facilities to its students vis - a - vis Outdoor game facilities like Badminton,football, cricket, volleyball, basketball, kabbaddi, athletics and other track /field events as well as an indoor gym . The college also has open air stage to host various cultural and
performance activities.
ICT enabled Facilities: The college has adequate ICT infrastructure. There are 14 Interactive panels disributed in classrooms, lecture theatre, labs, library and principal office. Three seminar rooms have Digital podium, OHP and White Boards. 112 computers are distributed among different computer labs, english lab, library, office, departments. Electronic Kiosk is also there . The college has 7 fiber-based WiFi facilities, and the internet connection is regularly updated. Other On-campus amenities include separate staff ,girls and boys parking, drinking water coolers on every floor, first aid, security and fire safety equipments. Certainly! This dedication underscores our commitment to honoring the memory of heroes and fostering a spirit of bravery and dedication among our students.
